Two Central Otago drivers had their licences suspended by police over the weekend.
Alexandra Police Acting Senior Sergeant Regan Price said on February 21 a driver in the Omakau area had his licence suspended for driving through a road works zone, which at the time had a temporary speed limit of 30km/h.
The driver’s speed was alleged to be over three times the temporary limit. This driver’s vehicle was also impounded for 28 days.
On Thursday February 19, a 54-year-old man was stopped in the Ranfurly area after being seen driving over 50km/h over the speed limit.
His licence was suspended for 28 days and his vehicle impounded. He is due to appear in the Alexandra District Court on March 19.
Cromwell Police are also investigating the theft of a blue 2016 Ford Ranger from Pisa Moorings which occurred on February 17.
Police would like to hear from anyone with CCTV, dash cam or other information that could assist its investigation.
