The Wyndham Harness Racing Club have a big day planned when they bring their annual holiday race meeting back to Cromwell on Tuesday (6 January) with a full day of high-quality grass track harness racing and entertainment for young and old alike at the Cromwell Racecourse.

The day provides an ideal opportunity to enjoy a picnic on the grass while enjoying everything the day has to offer.

There are thirteen races on the programme with the first at 1.15pm with feature events, the Shannon Farm Cromwell Cup and the Cromwell & Districts Businesses Cup the feature races of the day, supported by a quality race card throughout the afternoon.

Fashion In the Field is back with categories for Best Dressed, Best Suited – open to both men and women – plus a children’s category (restricted to 5 years plus). The children’s category will take place early on the day before the adult’s sections get under way. Sponsors include Classic Car Wine Tours, La Forge, Cromwell Motel, Wooing Tree Vineyard, Mount Michael Wines, River Rock Estate, BP Workshop, Gary Anderson and Mr Whippy.

A $250 Prezzy Card will be won in the Heads/Tails game which is suitable for all ages.

As part of the Summer At The Trots programme the event also includes Kids At The Trots with kid’s packs, competitions, prizes and free entertainment for the children with mini jeeps, a bouncy castle, lolly scramble and competitions.

Judges will be out and about to select the Best Picnic Competition while losing tote tickets will give patrons the opportunity to win rides on the EH Ball ITM Mobile Barrier.

The public bar will be open to patrons.

Admission is just $10 while under 18s are free.
